Sister Lydie H Masse’, the founder of Lydia’s House, was raised in a Christian home in Douala-Cameroon. She became an orphan in her early teen, when her mother went to be with the Lord. She had witnessed and endured the fate and rejection of children whose parents have died, yet she survived by God’s preserving grace and mercy. She had devoted her life to the Lord’ s service.
In March 2001, Lydia received a call from the Lord to return to Cameroon in order to care for the orphans and other disadvantaged children. She then prayerfully and diligently considers the call. She said: "My background and personal experience have prepared me for this ministry, I can therefore identify with the spiritual plight of these children in the streets".
That same year, Mission of Mercy (CAM), Inc. (thereafter known as MOM) was born, and was registered as a non-profit organization in the USA.
The Mission of MOM is to make the Lord Jesus Christ real to the orphans and underprivileged children ( Matt.28:16-20; Mark16:15-18), by presenting the gospel of salvation to them in a systematic, coherent and logical manner, so that they will have an opportunity to make an intelligent decision about Christ.
